It serves as a reminder that the “hidden” pockets of the Earth can still produce extraordinary new species that redefine our understanding of well-established mineral families.

Discovery The species was first identified from the Ambatovita mine in Madagascar. Scientifically, it was initially mistaken for a high-cesium Morganite, but structural analysis revealed it crystallizes in the trigonal system rather than the hexagonal system of true Beryl.
