1.89 ct HACKMANITE – MYANMAR

Hackmanite – Myanmar – Large Faceted Stones with UV Color Change & Tenebrescence*

This parcel consists of unusually large faceted Hackmanites from Myanmar. Material of this size is particularly interesting, as Hackmanite is more commonly encountered in much smaller pieces or in material that is difficult to facet cleanly.

The stones show an attractive natural *purple to violet coloration in normal photographed light*, with good transparency for the material and characteristic internal features.

Under UV light, different areas of the stones react with varying intensity. Some zones develop a much stronger color response than others, producing striking patches and flashes across the faceted surface. The stones were deliberately oriented and cut so that these UV-reactive areas remain visible and contribute to the finished appearance rather than being lost during cutting.

Some pieces in the lot also show noticeably stronger *tenebrescence* — the reversible change in color produced by exposure to ultraviolet light — while others display the effect more selectively. This natural variation gives each stone its own individual character.

What makes this material particularly appealing is the combination of *large size, purple body color, faceting, and uneven UV response*, creating a very unusual visual effect both in ordinary light and under ultraviolet illumination.

A very interesting group of Myanmar Hackmanites for collectors who appreciate optical phenomena, unusual faceted mineral species, and stones that reveal an entirely different character under UV light.
